Welcome to one of the best Remote Focus ,Iris or Zoom systems available in the world today.
Hi I am Louis Puli.
As a camera operator /steadicam operator I am always on the look out for new tools that make my job easer ,more cost affective and user friendly for me and my camera assistants .
In early 2000 I spoke to the inventor of the BFD Jim Bartell and asked him to send me the prototype to Australia . Many of my friends in the U.S were raving about the system so I had to try one for myself . I had a BFD focus system for a week and did many tests with different lens and camera systems I was not disappointed, it is a fantastic system and more importantly my assistant loved using it.
One of the great things about the design of the system is that it is totally modular. If you just need One controller lets say a focus Channel Transmitter with remote on/off camera run Fine or if you need to add a second or third unit just add the receivers (motors cables etc) and you are right to go .
The D.O.P may want to control the Iris Channel Transmitter fine the assistant can simply just hand over the Linear or Rotary handset to them and thats it No cables to the 1st AC ,just walk away with the unit and they can control the iris as they please.
The simplicity of mounting the motors Heden MVP or M1 on any rod size ( 15mm ,5/8 ,19mm) and also changing Lens Gears are all tools free.
The battery a single 9 volt never die’s with over 20 hours battery life even the worst music video will never cause your assistant to sweet batteries again .
The system is light weight ,fits well for both left or right hand(ambidextrous) operating.
After your assistant starts using this system I know they won’t use any other system again .
